• E. Rivers Alumni

As one of the oldest public schools in Atlanta, E. Rivers has many, many alumni in Atlanta and beyond. Our 100th anniversary is just around the corner, we’ve moved into a brand new building, and we’re making an effort to honor our past.

If you’re an alumni, a parent of an alumni, or just a friend, please click here and fill out this form. We’d love to keep in touch through occasional email updates about the happenings of the E. Rivers community.  If you have a great alumni story to share, please drop us note (eriverslionsroar+alum@gmail.com), we’d love to hear about it and maybe even share it with others in the extended E. Rivers Family.

The first “new” E. Rivers: 1951

  • E. Rivers School, built after a fire destroyed the original building, was the first modern school building in the South, was featured in “Architectural Forum” in April, 1951, and “Time” magazine in September, 1953.

We recently heard from the grandson of Alfred Barili. He was the architect for the original Peachtree Heights School built in 1917. His grandson was happy to hear that the original marble placard was saved and will be incorporated into the new building. You likely walked past it many, many times!
