About Us: Midtown High School's College and Career Center

  • About the CCC

Midtown High School's College and Career Center (CCC) is located in the new wing of the school. We are open most school days from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The CCC is a dedicated space where Midtown High School students can explore their post-secondary school options. We are here to support our school counselors and our college advisers, and we are staffed exclusively with parent and community volunteers. The Midtown High School CCC is supported by local neighborhood associations and the PTSO.

Midtown High School CCC volunteers organize a variety of programs and services, including:

    ·      College visits. Each year we host over 150 visits from college admissions representatives nation-wide, including College in the Courtyard, our college mini-fair in the spring.

    ·      Free student and parent workshops on a range of topics, including how to create your college list, the application process, college essays and short answers, resumes, financial aid, and interview skills.

    ·      One-on-one help with college essays and resumes.

    ·      A Career and Skills Expo aimed at students who may not be attending a four-year college.

    ·     Files on 1,000+ colleges and a library of reference books.

    ·      Information about ACT and SAT registration, planning, and preparation.

    ·      Assistance with the Common Application, Parchment, and other online resources.

    ·      Financial aid information, including the FAFSA, the Hope and Zell  Miller Scholarships, and other scholarships.
