Volunteer Opportunities
E. Rivers loves our volunteers! Parents, grandparents, and community members are welcome to volunteer with us. If you would like to volunteer, contact Melissa Blair and Molly Hargather at eriverswelcomedesk@gmail.com or click on the links below. Please note that APS requires that all volunteers who work with children must complete the volunteer training.
Ongoing
Concession Stand
Every Saturday and Sunday in the Fall (September-November) and Spring (March-May), E. Rivers is host to Peachtree Road United Methodist Church’s (PRUMC) youth soccer league. Each day, hundreds of kids and parents come to play and watch soccer on our “Field of Dreams”.
Parent volunteers run the Lion’s Pause Concession Stand by selling drinks and snacks to the thousands of youth soccer participants that use our lower field. We sell water, soft drinks, candy, chips and the ever popular ring pops! The money raised goes to the PTA to support all the great things PTA does for our school.
Each volunteer shift is about 2 hours long and all you need to do is show up, be friendly and sell snacks to our visitors.

Volunteer Training
Stop by for coffee & donuts and a quick orientation for new volunteers. For the safety of our children, APS requires that all volunteers who work with children complete a short training including watching a short video and filling out an information form. This includes PTA volunteers and room parents. Please bring a photo ID.
If you have completed this training in the last five years, you are not required to complete it again.
Can’t attend? Fill out the forms online and drop your completed paperwork by the welcome desk on the first floor. Visit https://www.atlantapublicschools.us/domain/14633

Bake Sale
It’s Bake Sale time during the Tree Sale and we need homemade baked goods. To ensure a good variety of items, we have assigned each grade a particular item, but if you have a special recipe that you love (such as nut-free or gluten-free) feel free to change.
Please wrap items individually. Be creative with recipes and packaging. Wrap items in clear bags or cellophane and use ribbons, cute bags, colorful stickers, etc as a final touch. The prettier the presentation, the better it will sell. Check out Pinterest, etc for ideas!
We also need volunteers to help work the bake sale. Please sign up at the Signup Genius link below to work a shift. It’s a great way to see the kids during this fun school event!

Tree Sale
Come out and support the PTA at the school year’s biggest fundraiser! No experience is necessary. E. Rivers needs your help setting up the lot, selling, trimming and loading beautiful Fraser fir trees. The tree sale is a (big) group effort and great way to meet other parents, make new friends, support the school, and enjoy the holiday spirit.

Teacher Time Raffle
Teacher Time Raffle is a great E. Rivers tradition and one of our students’ favorite activities of the year. They have a chance to win a fun activity with a favorite teacher or staff member.
We need volunteers to help sell raffle tickets before school every morning, 7:30-8/8:15 in the lobby. This is easy, fun and not too time consuming!

Fun Run
Mark your calendars and plan to attend the annual E. Rivers FUN Run.
For pre-K, Kindergarten and new parents, this is an event that you don’t want to miss. You will love cheering your child on as they run around the track with their class mates. As veteran parents know, we do need volunteers to help make this event a success – set up, break down, spirit sections, finish line, photographers, etc. We also need a volunteer, (medium size male), to dress up in the Lion costume. And, we need pre-K and K parents to volunteer for cheering sections along the outer route (after your children have finished running, of course).
