Hello everyone! My name is Dr. Dean Potts, and I am a mathematics instructor at Phoenix Academy. I will be teaching Algebra I parts A/B and Algebra II parts A/B.
I am originally from Toronto Ontario, Canada and now call Atlanta home (for over 25 years!).
I am a graduate of Cleveland State University with a B.S. in Psychology and a double minor in Mathematics and Social Studies. I also completed my teaching certificate at Cleveland State University. I have a M.Ed. in Education for secondary mathematics from Piedmont College and I just recently completed my PhD. In Mathematics Education at Georgia State University.
I am a former student athlete and I was also a member of the Canadian National Swim Team for three years. I used to swim distance freestyle but now I enjoy running with my wife and playing baseball with my son.
This completes my 26th year in education, with 15 years employed by APS.
I share my office with two other family members – Lego and Luka – they are available for tutoring session by appointment only. Their daily work schedule is really full!
I know that we will have an outstanding year, and I look forward to speaking with you in the next few weeks.
You may contact me during the day through my cell or by the email listed above!
