Science

  • The science curriculum is a framework of scientific concepts and skills followed by the GADOE standards. The curriculum aims to provide a comprehensive and engaging learning experience that prepares students with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to understand the natural world and make informed decisions as citizens.

    The following are Included in the science curriculum.

    1. Goals and Objectives: These outline what students are expected to know and be able to do by the end of the curriculum. Goals may include developing scientific inquiry skills, understanding key scientific principles, and applying scientific knowledge to real-world situations.
    2. Inquiry-Based Learning: Students will actively explore scientific phenomena, ask questions, gather data, and draw conclusions. This approach fosters critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
    3. Integration of Cross-Curricular Skills: Students will  incorporate other skills such as literacy, mathematics, and technology.
    4. Connections to Real-World Applications: Students will be able to emphasize how scientific knowledge is relevant to everyday life. 

    Differentiation and Accessibility: Students with diverse learning needs will have access to and succeed in science education.
