💚 A Message from Your Principal

  • Dear SPARK Families,

Thank you for a wonderful first four weeks of the school year! Classes are well on their way to establishing strong routines, and the energy in our building is inspiring.

As a reminder, teachers are committed to communicating with families at least once per week. We encourage you to reach out to your child’s teacher if you have any questions or need clarity on classroom procedures. Now is the time to strengthen the school-home partnership so we can focus the remainder of the year on helping your child thrive. Teachers are happy to answer any questions regarding expectations and routines.

This Thursday, students will bring home their first progress report. Please note that this report reflects only a small number of graded assignments from the first weeks of school—there will be plenty of opportunities to accumulate additional grades as the year progresses. Students will also receive their MAP Family Report, which shows how they performed on our universal screener in reading and math (grades K–5) and science (grade 5). These scores are simply a starting point, and we look forward to seeing growth as we implement personalized instructional plans.

We also invite you to join us for our annual Grandfriends’ Luncheon. Families are welcome to bring a lunch to enjoy with their child in the cafeteria. Please allow extra time to park and sign in. A security pre-check form will be available in advance to help reduce wait times at the check-in table.

With testing behind us and routines established, September is a wonderful time for learning at SPARK! While students should stay home when sick, we hope they will be present and on time each day they are well. Thank you for reinforcing the importance of regular attendance.

Together, let’s keep building a joyful, curious, and resilient community of learners—this is only the beginning of all the growth and success your children will achieve this year!

    With gratitude,

    Dr. Jennifer Toney
