STEP 4. Students must submit their funding application via GA Futures - click HERE. What is a funding application? It is an application that allows you to access the GSFC (Georgia Student Finance Commission) funds so that the full cost of tuition is not absorbed by the student and/or their parent/guardian.Without completing this step, you will be billed the full amount of tuition for that respective college. Therefore, this is an extremely crucial step.

    • First, watch this video for instructions on how to submit your funding application

    • Next, see HERE for the website for you to begin and submit your funding application.

    • Once you are on the webpage, the application procedure is explained. So please go ahead and click "Apply Now" and proceed with logging in and applying for the 2025-26SY (school year). A valid parent/guardian email is required, so be sure to accurately obtain your guardian-parent's most used email address. The parent must then check their email inbox or spam folder for a message from the GSFC (Georgia Student Finance Commission) where they'll be asked to electronically approve their child's DE participation.

STEP 5.  For the students who are new to the DE program, your next step in the application process is to submit your admissions application directly to the college/university for which you are eligible. Current or returning DE students who intend to apply at a different college for the spring 2026 semester, you too must submit an admissions application. If you are a current or returning DE student and your intent is to continue at your same college, you should contact your college and ask if it's indeed necessary for you to re-submit an admissions application. How do you submit an admissions application?

    • The admission application instructions for each college are found in the dual enrollment drive - HERE. Once you're in the drive, please locate the document for your college that you are eligible, then follow the instructions written on the document. Each college has its own deadline to have your admission application submitted, so please adhere to it as we cannot make any extensions - sorry.

STEP 6. New students must request that their transcript be sent to their college via their Parchment account. This also applies to current DE students who are seeking enrollment to a new or different college for the 2025-26SY. Returning DE students to the same college, please contact your college and ask if it's even necessary for you to re-submit your high school transcript.

    • See HERE for the Parchment link where you'll create your account and submit requests for your transcript to be sent to the destination of your chosen college.

    • For instructions on how to set up your Parchment account, please go HERE, and locate the document entitled "2025-26 Parchment Link and Instructions".

STEP 7. Most, if not all colleges for DE admissions require the SAT, ACT, and/or some other exam. Please review what the minimum scores are for each college via HERE.

    • To access and request your SAT scores, log into your College Board account via HERE and request that your highest SAT scores from one test administration be sent to the college. Please note that there is no 'super-scoring' for DE admissions. There may be a fee for this service, or you may use a fee waiver if you qualify for free/reduced lunch. The colleges will not accept a copy of your SAT score from you as your SAT scores must come directly from the College Board

    • For your ACT scores, log in to your ACT account via HERE and request that your highest ACT scores from one test administration be sent to the college. There may be a $19+ fee for the ACT to officially send your scores. Colleges will not accept a copy of your ACT score from you as your ACT scores must come directly from the ACT company. Again, there is no 'super scoring' for dual enrollment admissions - sorry.

STEP 8. There may be occasions during this process when you will need to provide your Midtown counselor with a document. Please upload all your DE documents via HERE.

Examples of documents that you must submit are~

    • Your signed 2025-26 Midtown HS Dual Enrollment Agreement as seen HERE

    • A PDF version copy of your official DE college schedule. Screenshots are not acceptable

STEP 9. Be sure to continually connect with your assigned Midtown HS counselor along the way as there will need to be a serious conversation about your eligibility, the course(s) you are intending to take during this DE experience, as well as determining the feasibility of such an experience - this is because DE must logistically fit into your overall spring 2026 Midtown schedule. It is absolutely critical everyone understands that you, as a current high school student, are ultimately a student who is the responsibility of the Atlanta Public School system and not the college. So therefore, the high school's requirements do in fact always supersede the college experience. In other words, if a college class has a meeting time that conflicts with a required course that you are currently taking at the high school, then yup you guessed it - you must forfeit the college course - sorry.

Once steps 1-8 are complete, we will continuously be in touch with each of you throughout this process with a variety of updates. Moreover, if you are in need of additional assistance, we'll connect with you for a face-to-face application session.

To avoid procrastination and to provide us time to work out any loose ends, we are strongly requesting that this entire process be wrapped up prior to the Thanksgiving break Friday November 21, 2025.
