• Ms. Stephenson is the proud Assistant Principal of Bolton Academy.  She is committed to supporting Ms. Mincey, students, families, and teachers to create a rigorous learning environment that promotes inquiry, reflection, respect, and compassion for all members of the learning community. 

    Prior to Bolton, Ms. Stephenson began her career in Cobb County teaching middle school students with moderate academic and behavioral concerns.  After this experience, she has focused her efforts on younger students at Jackson Elementary School in Atlanta Public Schools as a teacher and Special Education Lead Teacher. She holds an Education Specialist Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Lincoln Memorial University, a Master of Science Degree in Special Education from University of Georgia, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Math from University of Southern California. More recently, Ms. Stephenson attended the Cahn Institute at Columbia University where she worked with her previous principal to improve educational outcomes for low performing students. Throughout her career, Ms. Stephenson has consistently advocated for struggling students as she believes every student matters and every student counts.

    Ms. Stephenson is a strong proponent of Bolton’s International Baccalaureate program.  She is the daughter of a career US Army officer and, as such, has traveled extensively throughout the United States and overseas.  Her varied experiences allowed for her broad cultural and geographic perspective.  Ms. Stephenson is married to a native Atlantan and her son attends public school in their DeKalb County neighborhood public school.

    Ms. Stephenson is passionate, energetic and loves what she does! She strives to make Bolton strong every day.
