    The Georgia Student Technology Competition (GASTC) is a statewide technology competition where students in grades 3-12 compete in a variety of technology categories. The main goal is to challenge students to become leaders in a digital age.  In order to compete in the GASTC, students must receive first place at a recognized regional (district) technology fair.
     
    All schools are encouraged to hold a local school Technology Tourney, in which they will submit their top 2 winners per Grade Band (3-4 | 5-6 | 7-8 | 9-10 | 11-12) for each of the 15 categories to participate in the Atlanta Public Schools' Technology & Innovation Competition. If schools choose not to host a local Technology Tourney, the local school should have a process to approve the projects that advance to the District Technology Fair. This is to ensure that all Technology Fair projects submitted by students are of high quality and are able to compete at the District & State level Technology Competitions.
     
    All projects submitted must be designed and created by students. While some adult guidance is allowed, it must be evident that all work entered by students was completed by students. Students that are unable to present their projects for whatever reason, (including illness), may NOT use "proxies." Only students that are part of the original registered team may represent a project at the district and State Technology Competitions. Projects for each category must be unique and CANNOT be entered in more than one category. Students are able to participate in a maximum of 2 projects, with the exception of the Technology Literacy Challenge. Students are NOT allowed to switch project categories. Projects will only be judged in the category in which it placed first in at the regional fair.
     
    All projects that win first place at the District Technology & Innovation Competition automatically advance to the State Technology Fair.
