Happenings in the MJHS Counseling Department!
Welcome to the Counselors' Corner!
Every other Wednesday from 11:30-12:10, the Counseling Team is hosting a virtual lunch-n-learn series on various topics. Students are invited to drop-in to the ZOOM ROOM to participate, ask questions, or just listen in. Our hope is that students will leave with some resources and tools on the subject that will help them more successfully navigate high school. We look forward to seeing you!
Please keep in mind that Counselors' Corner is for students only. Thank you for your understanding.
No Place For Hate (NPFH)
It has been over 20 years since No Place for Hate® began.
As the program moves into its third decade, NPFH is still going strong in over 1,600 schools across the nation! The No Place for Hate program provides a model for combating bullying, racism, and prejudice in schools.
Maynard Holbrook Jackson High School students, faculty and staff have an opportunity, during this virtual education platform, to voice leadership and tackle challenging issues that exist around the world. The No Place for Hate (NPFH) Coalition Committee at Maynard Holbrook Jackson High School is comprised of students, teachers, and counselors. The primary goal of the NPFH Coalition Committee will be to provide opportunities for students to connect and relate across lines of difference. Maynard Jackson High School hopes to use NPFH programming to advance equity and further develop empathy in our students while catalyzing their creativity.
Please keep your eyes and ears in tune for upcoming information about our virtual program events for the 2020-2021 school year.
