• Destination:Graduation!
    January 22-February 2

This year, the MJHS Counseling Team will hold Destination: Graduation during the week of January 22nd to begin the course selection process for the 2024-2025 school year. Starting on Monday, January 22, 10th-grade students will visit the Media Center with their Social Studies class for classroom instruction from the Counselors, which will cover topics such as APS graduation requirements, college planning, and match & fit, HOPE requirements, understanding your GPA, and more. This presentation will be shared with families next week.

Students and parents can review the presentation ahead of time to prepare for their meetings.

Destination: Graduation will culminate with student 1:1 Advisement Meetings. These meetings are a critical part of the sophomore year, where students speak one-on-one with their counselor to discuss their academic path, their future plans, and select their classes for the following school year. 10th-grade students will be determining whether to become a part of the International Baccalaureate Diploma (DP) or Career-related (CP) program. They can also discuss other opportunities such as ACCA, Dual Enrollment, Advanced Placement classes, and more.

Parents wanting to meet with their child’s counselor to discuss their 2024-2025 course selections are invited to schedule an appointment here:  www.calendly.com/mjhscounseling. Please NOTE that this link is for 10th grade parents only.
