Meet the School Counselor
Tracie Brown --- Brown is a PARKSIDE ORIGINAL (with our school since its opening in 2001). She is a proud product of the Atlanta Public School System. Upon completion of high school, Brown attended the University of Georgia and obtained a B.A. in Early Childhood Education. Brown served as an elementary school teacher for six years. She went on to earn a Master's Degree in School Counseling from Clark Atlanta University. This is her seventeenth year as a school counselor.
Brown considers teaching her passion and children her first priority. She believes in helping students to succeed in life through valuable life-long skills. Through the counseling program at Parkside, the students are taught lessons on respect, responsibility, honesty, test-taking skills, giving, college and career awareness, good touch-bad touch, friendship, conflict resolution, and transition. The counseling program serves to help ALL students succeed in school and encourages them to strive to their highest potential.
Brown has consistently demonstrated an eagerness and excitement about the opportunity to work with all our children to help them become successful and productive individuals.
