SPARK is the resource currently used to deliver the Physical Education Curriculum. It offers students opportunities to learn, practice and master a wide range of diverse skills and activities. SPARK has field tested units that can be implemented realistically in a variety of school setting, including those with limited space, equipment, and supplies. Only activites that produce substantial opportunities for students to actively engage in moving and learning sport, dance and fitness skills are included. A typical 30-45 minute SPARK P.E. class consists of a warm-up, a fitness activity, a skill activity and a cool down.

Since no current textbooks are 100% aligned to the National Standards, it is important that teachers take care in selecting activities that are aligned with the Physical Education content
outlined in the concept overviews.
