Ultimate Frisbee
Ultimate is a non-contact disc sport that combines the speed of soccer with the throwing & passing of football & basketball. Games are played on a field about the size of a football field and only require a disc and pair of cleats to play.
IMPORTANT: Parents! You must complete the DTH athletic participation process, including forms and registration on Dragonfly and TeamSnap, prior to tryouts and practices.
Season: Fall 2024
TRYOUTS: 4:30-6 PM Friday, AUGUST 9TH AT DAVID T. HOWARD FIELD.
Bring a water bottle. Cleats are recommended though not necessary for tryouts.
Parents! We will host an information meeting at tryouts on Friday, August 9. Please arrive at 5:30 for the meeting before leaving with your child.
Practices: Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning August 13, 4:30-6 PM at O4W Park.
Games: Once finalized, the game schedule will include weekday and weekend games beginning in September through mid-October.
Please plan for two one-day round-robin events around the end of September and middle of October. In addition, there will be an end-of-season tournament, likely November 2 or 3 based on the last few years.
Teams: Final structure TBD, but generally three teams each year: one Girls and two Boys.
Note that national and local governing organizations regularly introduce changes and our setup may change based on that.
Fees: As with all sports, our DTH Ultimate Frisbee program has costs associated with the active season – field reservations, coaches, jerseys, national and regional fees, and supplies (discs, etc.). The fee per player for the 2024 season will be updated ASAP, likely $100. The David T. Howard Booster Club does have scholarship opportunities for anyone who may need this option.
