The American School Counselor Association describes Middle School Counselors as “educators who are uniquely trained in child and adolescent development, learning strategies, self-management, and social skills. They implement school counseling programs to support students through this important developmental period” (ASCA 2019). Atlanta Public Schools Middle School Counselors offer direct and indirect services for students in the following ways:
