      • Georgia's Lions Lighthouse Foundation

        Atlanta Public Schools has partnered with the Georgia Lions Lighthouse Foundation to provide vision services for students attending Atlanta Public Schools. 

         

        The Georgia Lions Lighthouse Foundation is committed to filling the gaps that still exist for underinsured Georgians by providing access to low-cost vision services. The Georgia Lions Lighthouse Foundation partners with a statewide network of optometrists and ophthalmologists to annually provide vision screenings, eye exams, eyeglasses, and eye surgeries to over 7,000 Georgia residents.

         

        For SY 2025, from August to February, Georgia Lions Lighthouse 

        • Screened 3,341 students,
        • Provided 699 exams, and 
        • Produced 613 total glasses for students. 
        • Lions Lighthouse also provided 217 vouchers.

      Vision to Learn

      • Vision to Learn

        Atlanta Public Schools has partnered with Vision To Learn since August 2017 to provide students with free vision screenings, eye exams, and glasses. The program launched during the 2017-18 school year and continues to offer these essential vision services to APS students. This partnership ensures ongoing support for students needing glasses to aid their learning and success.

        • In SY2024, Vision to Learn conducted 457 exams and provided 405 glasses for both traditional and partner schools.  
        • In SY2025, Vision to Learn conducted 440 exams and provided 331 glasses for both traditional and partner schools. They are scheduled to serve 2 additional traditional schools in FY2025.
