APS Superintendent Dr. Lisa Herring Selected as Honorary Chair for Relay For Life Atlanta Event, Friday
Annual event to raise awareness of the fight against cancer to be held at North Atlanta High School

ATLANTA –  Atlanta Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Lisa Herring has been selected as the honorary chair for the annual Relay for Life Atlanta, presented by Northside Hospital Cancer Institute.

This year’s event will take place Friday, May 13, 6 - 10 p.m., at the track at North Atlanta High School (4111 Northside Parkway, NW).  Relay for Life Atlanta is an annual fund-raising event dedicated to helping communities attack cancer through monetary donations, time given, or awareness raised.

Hundreds of survivors, caregivers and other community members will walk laps around the track, individually or as part of a team, all united in the fight against cancer.

“I am humbled to be this year’s honorary chairwoman as this extraordinary event is relaunching following a pandemic hiatus,” Dr. Herring said. “Please join us to celebrate our survivors, remember those we have lost, and fight back as a community to end cancer.”
