Verizon Executives to Visit APS to See VILS Program, Thursday
Twelve schools were selected to participate in the national program which equips every student and teacher with a device, data plan or hotspot to close the technology gap.
ATLANTA – Four of the 12 Atlanta Public Schools selected to participate in Verizon’s Innovative Learning Schools (VILS) program will host executives from the technology giant, Thursday.
The Verizon officials are in town to see how APS is implementing the VILS program, designed to bridge the digital divide by providing every student and teacher in the school with a device, and a data plan or hotspot to help them develop the skills, knowledge, and capabilities needed to thrive in the digital world.
Additionally, schools in the VILS program receive extensive teacher training, support, and the opportunity to engage in a unique, immersive curriculum to leverage technology in their classrooms.
WHAT: Verizon executives will visit four APS schools to see how APS is implementing the VILS program. (Media is invited to attend the first school visit.)
