Atlanta Public Schools to Host Annual Special Olympics Track & Field Games, Today

 

ATLANTA – More than 300 special education students representing nearly 50 schools will participate and compete in various track and field-related events at the annual Atlanta Public Schools Special Olympics Track & Field Games, today at Lakewood Stadium.

 

The student-athletes participating in the event will compete in events such as the 25- and 50-meter dash and wheelchair races, the bean-bag toss, the tennis ball throw, the softball throw, the standing long jump, and the running long jump.

 

The APS Special Olympics is one of the district’s longest-running initiatives, having launched with the inaugural event in 1981.

WHAT:      More than 300 special education students representing nearly 50 schools will participate and compete in various track and field-related events at the annual APS Special Olympics Track & Field Games.

WHEN:      TODAY Tuesday, March 21 | 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
