E. Rivers Elementary to Host Fourth Annual Veteran's Day Celebration

ATLANTA – The E. Rivers Elementary School community will honor the nation’s veterans during its fourth annual Veteran’s Day Celebration, Friday morning.

The event has become a tradition at the school and features veterans who are relatives of E. Rivers students. Activities include a flag ceremony in the school’s courtyard, a breakfast reception, a brief program for veterans and their family members led by the school’s fifth grade Girl and Boy Scout troops, and a parade of veterans through the hallways of the school followed by visits to classrooms.

WHAT:         Fourth annual Veteran’s Day Celebration

WHEN:         Friday, November 9, 2018 | Beginning at 7:45 a.m.

7:45 a.m.     Flag ceremony in the school courtyard

8 a.m.           Breakfast reception for veterans

8:15 a.m.     Program for veterans and their family members, led by the E. Rivers fifth grade Girl and Boy Scout troops

8:45 a.m.     Parade of veterans through the school

9 a.m.          Classroom visits
