APS to Host Series of Virtual Meetings to Provide Information on Day One 2020: Return + Learn, Starting This Week

Town halls will provide information and answer questions on the overall reopening plan, while fireside chats allow for an in-depth conversation on specific topics

 

ATLANTA —  Atlanta Public Schools (APS) will host a series of virtual meetings, starting this week, that will provide information on the District’s reopening plan for the 2020-2021 school year.

 

In keeping with the District’s commitment to maintaining open and consistent dialogue in preparation for a strong start to the school year, APS is inviting parents, community members, and partners to join Superintendent Dr. Lisa Herring and other district leaders as they answer questions and share information in virtual discussion forums, all hosted on the District’s Facebook Live page (https://facebook.com/AtlantaPublicSchools):

 

  • Wednesday, July 29, 6 p.m. – Virtual Town Hall where Dr. Herring and District leaders will answer questions and share information about the reopening plan.

 

  • Thursday, July 30, 5 p.m. – Virtual Fireside Chat where District leaders will provide information and answer questions concerning the APS Gifted Program.

 

  • Thursday, July 30, 6 p.m. – Virtual Fireside Chat on the District’s Dual Language Immersion Program

 

  • Tuesday, August 4, 6 p.m. – Virtual Town Hall where Dr. Herring and District leaders will provide information and answer questions about the reopening plan.

 

  • Thursday, August 6, 6 p.m. – Virtual Fireside Chat where District leaders will provide information and answer questions concerning the APS Special Education Program.
