APS, When We All Vote, and The Gathering Spot to Host “Good Trouble Voter” Activation Event, Thursday
ATLANTA – The “APS Good Trouble Voter Initiative”, a partnership between Atlanta Public Schools and the non-profit When We All Vote (WWAV) designed to register eligible APS students to vote and promote the importance of voting to students and families, is continuing during the weeks leading to the U.S. Senate runoffs.
APS, WWAV, and The Gathering Spot will host an “Early Voter Day” voter activation event at the Northwest Library at Scotts Crossing, Thursday, (3:30 - 6 PM), in preparation for the Senate runoffs on January 5, 2021.
Voters registered in Fulton County, students, families and community stakeholders will be encouraged to vote early – either in-person, respecting all COVID-19 safety measures and protocols, or by dropping off their mail-in ballots. The event will feature music, personal protection equipment (PPE), and information about transportation to the polls and other community resources.
WWAV is a non-profit, non-partisan organization focused on increasing participation in every election and closing the race and age voting gap by changing the culture around voting, harnessing grassroots energy, and, reaching every American, through strategic partnerships.
The “APS Good Trouble Initiative” Student Voter Registration Drive, September 22nd through October 5th, resulted in 576 new voters being registered for the general election on November 3rd. Additional students have been registered to vote in the January 5th U.S. Senate runoff.
WHAT: APS, WWAV and The Gathering Spot will host an “Early Voter Day” voter activation event at the Northwest Library at Scotts Crossing, Thursday (3:30 - 6 PM), in preparation for the Senate runoffs on January 5, 2021. The event is part of the APS Good Trouble Initiative.
