APS Announces Second Pop-Up Saturday Meal Distribution Site
Second location, in the parking lot of Hutchinson Elementary School, is in addition to the Hightower Station Shopping Center site
ATLANTA – Atlanta Public Schools (APS) Nutrition Department has added a second site for its pop-up meal distribution on Saturdays for children ages 1-18.
Beginning Saturday, Feb. 27, meal distribution will take place from an APS school bus in the parking lot of Hutchinson Elementary School (650 Cleveland Avenue, SW) from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Hutchinson Elementary School is located across from the Kroger Citi-Center Shopping Center. Parents and caregivers will be able to pick up 7-day meal kits, containing seven breakfasts and seven lunches, for each one of their children.
Saturday pop-up meal distribution will continue in the parking lot of the Hightower Station Shopping Center (2636 Martin Luther King Drive, SW), from 10:30 AM to Noon, through the end of the school year.
Both Saturday events are in addition to the weekly meal distribution and curbside meal pick-up events, also coordinated by the Atlanta Public Schools Nutrition Department, which occur every Wednesday. At both events, parents and guardians may pick up one, seven-day meal kit for each child, ages 1-18.
WHAT: The APS Nutrition Department has added a second site for its pop-up meal distribution on Saturdays for children ages 1-18, which will be in addition to the Hightower Station Shopping Center location through the end of the school year.
WHEN: Saturday, February 27, and every Saturday through the end of the school year, from 10:30 AM to Noon.
