PTA VP of Enrichment: Anne-Marie DeBacker
The Morningside PTA is proud to support a variety of enrichment programs for our students every year. Through these efforts, we hope to broaden the learning experiences our students receive in the classroom and inspire every child to reach their full potential.Ongoing Enrichment Initiatives
Book Fair
At MES, we want to foster a lifelong love of reading in our students, so it's only fitting that our first big PTA activity every year is our fall Book Fair. This is a great opportunity for students to pick up new books while also supporting our beloved media center and teacher classroom libraries. Please visit the Book Fair webpage to learn more about this year's Book Fair, including how to volunteer and when you can come shop with us.
For questions about the Book Fair, please contact Anne-Marie DeBacker.
Cultural Arts Events
The diversity within and around MES is one of our greatest strengths, and we love to celebrate it! Throughout the year, our Enrichment committee plans events like guest speakers and performances that highlight different cultures for our students and complement their classroom curricula. Starting in the fall of 2023, we're also hosting our first MES International Festival that will showcase the food, fashion, music, and more from all around the world. Please visit the International Festival webpage for more details about this exciting new event.
For questions about the International Festival, please contact Shradda Srivastev Strennen.
Dolphins Got Talent
Unleash Your Inner Star as part of Dolphins Got Talent, the MES Student Talent Show! At our school, we believe that every student possesses a unique talent waiting to shine. We're thrilled to announce the return of the much-anticipated student talent show on January 27th, 2024. Auditions will be taking place on December 7th and 8th, 2023, so start preparing now! You can find more details about this annual event on the Dolphins Got Talent webpage.

Family Science Night
Whether it's squishy, slimy, soft, or sparks, science is more fun when you can interact with it directly! Our annual Family Science Night is an opportunity for MES students and their families to come learn directly from local scientists working in our community. From handling snakes to programming circuits, your kids will have a blast learning more about how the world works. To learn more about this year's Family Science Night, please visit the Family Science Night webpage.

Enrichment Grants
One of the key priorities for the MES PTA is helping our teachers and other MES community members bring their innovative ideas life to enhance learning at MES. Our Grants Program is open to any teacher, staff, student, or parent who has an idea to enrich the learning environment. To learn more, including how to apply, please visit the Grants Program webpage.
